Born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, Jessica Butler earned her Bachelor’s in Social Work from Mississippi Valley State University and her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Houston. Having experienced the profound loss of her father during her youth, Jessica’s personal journey through grief and healing ignited her passion for mental health. Drawing strength from her own therapeutic experiences, she felt called to walk alongside others on their path toward healing and growth.
In her practice, Jessica provides individual psychotherapy for adolescents, young adults, and older adults navigating depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, and major life transitions. She integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies, always with the goal of fostering resilience and empowerment.
Jessica is deeply committed to breaking the stigma of mental health within the African American community and creating spaces where BIPOC clients feel seen, heard, and valued. Her work is rooted in authenticity, compassion, and the belief that true healing begins when individuals embrace both their struggles and their strengths. She empowers her clients to find their voice, honor their truth, and step into the fullness of who they are called to be.
